Antigravity - Portfolio website — Kruti Deepan Panda

Using antigravity to make my Portfolio website was a truly amazing experience. There were some weird issues of Gemini hallucinating at times but was still an easy fix.

As part of building my portfolio website I gave Gemini my CV and my GitHub profile and left it to decide on the styling of the site. I was pleasantly surprised when Gemini was able to decide a silicon themed style for the website with a very interactive website. It was also able to have some very fun animations for each UI element that gave the site a polished experience. Gemini was able to correctly able to read my GitHub profile and correctly categorize and showcase my projects.

Though the site seemed polished initially, I quickly realized it was not at all optimized for varying screen sizes. Infact most of the text boxes and UI elements had hard-coded sizes. This meant the moment I used any other device other than my PC to see the website; the site was unusable. Gemini was able to fix majority of such bugs within a single prompt but struggled to understand the edge cases. This meant I had to nearly spend my entire 5-hour usage limit just to fix the sizing issues. Gemini also hallucinated projects and blog posts that I had never made and added them to my portfolio. This happened despite me strictly mentioning it to only refer my GitHub profile. It also struggled to differentiate between projects that I had made during my undergraduate studies to the ones I built after graduation. Gemini just assumed all the projects I had were some groundbreaking industrial revolutions and glazed them to infinity while mentioning them. Maybe this was due to bad prompting by me, or maybe I was going over my head thinking it should be able to differentiate the projects.

Overall, I was able to fix most of the issues I had with the portfolio website after some amount of back-and-forth interaction with Gemini. This makes me believe Gemini 3.1 pro to be a good tool to quickly build a website for you, and I shall mark this experiment a success for Gemini.
